Liberty Veterans Memorial and Gardens, Inc, “hereafter referred to as LVMG”. LVMG was chartered in February 2012 as a non-profit 501 (c) (3) Public Charity. LVMG was created for the sole purpose of building a Veterans Memorial in the Town of Liberty. LVMG have no borders meaning any Veteran’s name is welcome on either side of 5 vertical granite columns standing 8’ in height. LVMG has a board of directors with monthly meetings, Bylaws, and a conflict of interest policy in place. All board members are volunteers with no paid salaries. Since 2012 we have held numerous fundraisers each year including 5K color runs, motorcycle rides, steak suppers, raffles, and auctions. We have received contributions ranging from $1 to $25,000 from sponsors and individuals. Rick Gunn, Senator of Alamance and Randolph County, was instrumental in getting us a grant for $25,000 from the State of North Carolina, Pat McCrory administration. We have eleven flag poles representing each branch of service; ARMY, NAVY, MARINES, AIR FORCE, COAST GUARD, POW/MIA, KIA/WIA, US Flag, NC Flag, ARMY AIR CORPS and BETSY ROSS flag. Each flag will be sponsored by a business or individual ranging from $2,700 to $4,400. With a construction budget of $200,000 we have raised roughly $150,000 and are presently under construction. The Dedication is set for May 28, 2018.
